Stress

Post by dude2 » 9 years ago

Problems are caused by stress. Doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and alternate healing specialists all say the same thing, stress causes problems. Illness, obesity, sleeplessness, job burnout, marital breakups, family squabbles, fights with friends, loss of employment, depression, all have been linked to stress. Whats more, not only does stress cause these problems, but they in turn cause stress. Stress begets stress. Stress is a force created by the mind that can distort, stretch, twist, compress, or deform the body. Not only are the parts of the body that we see subject to stress, so too are the unseen, the below-the-surface areas such as the organs and cells. Stress does not affect the body alone. The mind as well is stretched, twisted, changed. When you are effected by stress, attitudes and viewpoints change. Things that were clear are seen as through a shimmering wave of shower glass, clouding perceptions, attacking self-esteem, and changing your manner of dealing with others and yourself.
What REALLY causes stress?  When something occurs that has an effect on you to the point of causing a degree of stress and you continue to think about it, to carry it around with you, you give it energy. The more you think about the incident, the greater the power, until it does indeed cause trauma. It is vital to let go, to put the thing down.A second and more basic way to deal with stress is to realize that the true causes of stress are not events, people, frustration, disappointment, fear, unfulfilled desires, or negative expectations. Purely and simply, the cause of stress is your attitude toward these things. Once again, stress is not caused by problems. Events do not cause stress but rather your attitude towards the event. So, the secret is to change your attitude and to develop a new way to deal with it. You cannot be stressful and relaxed at the same time.
As we are taught from birth that stress is a inherit part of life, it is engrained to our everyday existence. Why were we conditioned to feel this way? Who cares! The important part is to recognize that stress is induced and can be controlled somewhat. I try to treat stress the same way I treat happiness. Situations come up and smack you squarely in the face, "do I need to stress on this situation?". Sounds silly but most of the time people just get angry, add stress and the situation just acts negatively on your current state of mind. Put it this way, would you take a poison pill on a daily basis or every time you encountered something in life that doesn't go smooth? That is exactly what is happening when you let stress and unhappiness take root in everyday thinking. As I see it, the only way to re-train the subconscious is to tell yourself consciously what you expect of yourself, over and over....  "Do I have to be stressed about this?", most times the answer will be no because being stressed will not change situation, the only thing that can happen is bad decisions because of stress...                Dude

Good post, i get stressed all the time expecially at work i get angry and irritated
I am sure, this is poisonus and not good for me
i have bad thoughts and bad memorys that is hard to let go of too.
i wish i knew how to let it go or make it dissapear from my mind.
i can ask do i have to get stressed over this tho.
All my anger irritation and stress has never solved anything
It is usually when i calm down and talk to myself i solve the problem.
I wish i could do that before going to all the trouble and wasted time of being stressed.
