Re: Loss of friends after disability
My entire family determined that I must be faking it, so have not spoken to me for over 22 years. They live on one continent, I live on another, so they are gone to me, I am gone to them. People prefer not be friends with a man who twitches, drools and can't speak properly, so I have none, exc...

we expect much more than life gives
Apparently I have suffered from multiple minor strokes during my life disability that result in the progression of my disorder. Today I learn if such happened to bring on this latest bounce. This is possibly the worst of all so far away it has left me immobile with no control of much left. If this ...

My ongoing allergic reaction problems
My voice is still not doing good, sometimes I can talk reasonably, but it takes time to get started, so the Chatroom is not a medium that I can easily use, which makes me very sad. I am a social animal, and the chatroom has been a wonderful means of getting my confidence back again. Because of a mea...

Re: the most useful helper I have
I have a couple of the easy reachers, and a few other makes - the one I listed can help with most dressing tasks, but socks completely defeat me - it is possible someone with better control could deal with socks, but not me. I use the easy reachers all over the house, and in my van, they are great. ...

the most useful helper I have
I have eight of these around the house, in my van and use them all of the time. They help me move my feet, lift things, help transferring, push things, make getting my footwear on easy, and a thousand other things.

Re: At last, what I am
In the last 21 years, I have had eight doctors make different diagnoses of what they should call my disability. The current insurance demanded diagnosis is in full accord with the hitherto unseen notes from my first neurologist, in 1994. The other seven doctors added bits, and subtracted bits, to fi...

Re: My Frontier X5 x demo wheelchair
In my quest to finally get to go places my wheelchairs would not take me, I purchased this off road chair -- the Action Track Chair http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/Mylash/SAM_SAM_zpsrhtmoufp.jpg It went places, but shortly after purchasing it, the action of a tracked vehicle over a hump made me...
