Bus? there is no peace like country peace i agree amen like a transit service TJ thats why I said I wish I lived in country cause where I live u hear sirens every 10 minutes I like living in a small town..but moving to the city hmmmmmmmmm, i like it here, is like a small town, but near city 2 minutes away from hospital ca back countr is not what it was Ok Lonewolf where I live there are no taxis no delivery etc yes, thats an advantage, bev yeah it is when I get sick, but other times the sirens get on my nerves i live right downtown city noises:) I would never sleep be glued to windows too nosey Out here we have rabbits, squirrel, and peace and quiet i have gotten used to it i guess same here *** smiley66 has joined #disabled-rt I have never lived in a big city lonewolf you live in the city no i live wayyyyyyyyy out oh yeah Im right down street from police station too good how do you stand it? the noise and all i wouldnt want to take forever to get to nearest neighbor or store though my city is over 100,000 I live 74 miles from the city i dont like it but im used to it i guess ic i have been here 5 yrs i would love to live live in the country] i find it handy to be able to walk to bank, etc. well disadvatages are the lack of services i live close to everything i need me too me too u live in country right rock? except for transportation etc yep I can sit on porch in pjs thats what I would like oh,me too i do that here:) lol lots of trees my fav thing is to listen to birds first thing in am etc look out window at night and see deer that sounds nice hehe bird call piped in it is lol lol outside speekers lol lol BUT lol I have to rely on relatives all the time i have humming birds, plenty and about 20 cardinals yup me too rock so do I lonewolf thats why I said I wouldnt want to be too far out IC but 1 minute from in laws is too close actually, here too, plenty of foxes, too Have to admit it would be nice to call for my own ride somewhere you must live in very special place lil have trouble getting help out here I vedeoed them during migration, and there must have been 200 humming birds 2ft. from me wow rock sounds like best of both worlds lots of ravines and parks well, i think so is an enclave within thec city daniel said earlier you can find peace and quiet anywhere I disagree i dis agree so do i 20 min by car, and youre downtown what do you all think? yes o, i agree with daniel inner peace yes,I've lived in SanAntonio for 7 years and i was so happy to get in the country see I lived in a subdivision and stayed constantly on edge we had to make our own I also agree with Daniel I disagree the garden pond part of my peace is not having kids run through the yard some ppl can't be happy anywhere its hard to find peace and quiet right downtown I'm happy here true, ms i also disagree hum what about noise and lights etc I wasn't questioning your happiness LW, I was just agreeing with Daniel :) privacy is on the wain here oh I know privacy is wonderful here im beginning to put less stock in surroundings, more in how i feel inside no privacy here well yes BUT noise is on increase lack of excessive noise etc helps If you've lived in the city all/most of your life..I don't think lights/noise would bother you as much as a 'country' person true very true I agree cud be you arec used to it I was raised in country me too, picking cotton i was raised in city but always loved to be at my grandparents in country do any of you get groceries and stuff delivered that's something I will need to adjust to i was raised 3 blocks from here what denise just pizza delivered not even that here getting used to living in the city havent moved around much *** ROCK- has left #Disabled-RT ok *** smiley66 has left irc (Quit: Quit: Leaving) Pat and I realize the time will come when this is impractical hard to feel good on inside if outside is aggrivating o, yes, from local IGA that's the way I feel max *** ROCK- has joined #Disabled-RT i can walk to it, they deliver any other goodies I don't know about? I had problems getting home health to come out here well, my hairdresser isa block away, so is drugstore am i in lag wow I could ride w/c that far *** Sg-Gal has joined #disabled-rt ok and i can see the lake from my living room window suzze mentioned cultural activities such as theaters, museums etc *** Sg-Gal has left irc (Quit: Quit: Leaving) I have no access to those type things Reno, Carson City is an hour away for all that ok big question true the city grew up arround us so we try and make a enviroment we feel good about how many of you prefer to be alone versus with people it depends on my mood I'm half and half a combination, i think I'm a loner that lives in a crowd *** Driveshaf has joined #disabled-RT lol im agaraphobic, a bit lol BUT simply cannot tolerate crowds, noise etc *** Woz has left irc (Quit: Leaving) dony we are comparing city to country no wonder you live in the country ok exactly why denise need quiet and calm all of you city dwellers-picture living in the country i like both worlds, love the far north, rugged *** Woz has joined #disabled-RT what would you miss the most Hehe, I live in a town, close to the town centre but also close to the country. =) anyone? i can survive in both small town TJ? ok-how much would country living effect your Ability to do things you do now *** suzze has joined #disabled-rt anyone?? there she is city is best place to live Kind of. is not! lol hey suzze tell them what all you were telling me the other day about city dwellers lol Depends on what city. why, suzze? that's true was TJ well, living in the city, more opportunities for socialization, more programs offered through the city dan has a point however you must surveive more access true but at what level? I just thought of a pos example for the city at a leval you can live with here they have a nice senior citizen center suzze, you've always lived in Chicago, right? *** Driveshaf has left #disabled-RT for the most part i think happiness more a people thing, then where you live I would have no way to get there 10 months in ca sometime in suburbs of chicago Likes one, where you can choose, not too far from the countryside, but not too small either, so that you donīt have the chance of finding what you need in it. sounds ideal, t-j I miss the library living in the city, i am close to everything, my doctor is 10-15 minutes away, i can get downtown in less than a half hour, grocery stores, shopping everything is 5 min away well with the Internet you don't even need to live in a city to get what you need true, ms, internet changes a lot in thew town where I go to the doctor they have shuttle buses from senior living facilities to doc offices, shops, etc can't imagine suzze what about listening to the sounds of nature living in the city, with everything so close by, encourages me to leave my apt i do believe city is better for many dis dependin on finantual status if things were further away...maybe would get out less often i need socializing, need to hang out w/friends, go places, see things yes but I do so dread having to give up my surroundings I don't though i live two blocks from a park that's scenery not the same suzze heh what about crime etc crime is everywhere country, city crime? in canada?????? :)))) city or country now we don't lock doors most of the time true, suzze hehe Yes, donīt think I would like it, in a very large city, but on the other hand, if I had to, I think I could adept, to that too. The hardest I think is the exhause fumes, from cars and so on. no crime in canafda? Quite adeptible =) *** ^^shaz^^ has joined #Disabled-RT lol, well not as much yes TJ would hate that too why sis but, we're catching up oh i dont know, less violent society most of my friends live in the same 5 mile area as I, where i grew up, we have all stayed in this area and that provides a great social circle for me, which is so vital i think for disabled ppl either place you live you have to sacrifice something unless you live with lily i notice a big difference when i go to ca for some it is suzze lol in what lily? lily explain that's true, i am single, though very close to my family my family is too close lol *** anny1 has joined #disabled-rt i feel suffocated in the city im always being told to be alert, hold my purse, dont talk to straangers, etc. lil explain difference oh ok IC anny do u live in city or country here, e never think of those things think lily understands my point of viev me either i live in mid size city yup, woz yes I see both sides have advantages still dread moving to civilization we will when we need more assistance than we do now and yet, i still maintain that you can find inner peace anywhere well does anyone have anything else? wwe just try to carve out something we feel more comfertable with yes go woz still think the peace out here is worth some inconvenience tailor your surroundings as best you can ok I give lol lol hehe it really does depend on your needs, i really need to live in a big city well I'm pushing off for tonight so some merit in what dan said you stick to your guns, sis would not survive otherwise i know what you are talking about lw,i grew up in a small town I agree suzze.
