Author Topic: Suggestions needed for a real work from home job  (Read 6337 times)

really feeling frustrated and scared at the moment.  My savings is dwindling, and when it disappears, I'll only have $30 a month right now, and $130 a month if I get to move somewhere else.  Neither amount is very acceptable, or  feasible, to me.

Last night I made the mistake of buying into something called dataentrybank.com, but all they tell you after you shell out the money is how to use Google adwords, which also require money to post.

I found a freelance work exchange site, but all job listings require a résumé and/or experience, neither of which I have.

Does anyone have an idea where to find a real job with little or preferably no start up costs?

I have really good writing, people, and computer skills, and time to devote to whatever I do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In gratitude,
Amber

I wish I had the answer Amber. However, I saw an interesting news story the other day that really caught my attention. A guy has a business of tracking down sellers on EBay and other aution sites of fake goods. He finds fakes, tracks down the sellers, and basically sells that info to the company that is getting ripped off. Apparently he is doing very well, while not leaving his home office.
I would like to start a company that tracks down fake news stories, news sites, auctions, etc, and hire all disabled, home bound people as employees. Seems like a lot of talent going to waste.

If you are interested in starting your own business, look into SCORE (http://www.score.org)--retired executives who help people starting up businesses.

Being a stringer (freelancer) for a local newspaper won't bring in much money, but it might be a start or at least a supplement.

At-home medical transcriptionist seems to be a job that won't be going away, so if you got some experience in that, you might find a start or a career.

The way I look at these suggestions is that even if you don't stay with the positions, perhaps you can network into something else.

I have a friend who is a quad who is making all her income via Google Adwords. It can be done. She spends about  6 hours a day searching.

I can tell you what I do, but since it does involve retail selling (of course for a profit), I don't want to post it here, or it might look like I'm trying to sell it!
If interested you can email me at marken50@telus.net and I would just give you a link to take a look at.

Hello, my name is Jenifer Jane Rivers. i am writing to you over a problem i am having on obtaining employment. It has been hard for me to get a job, for real last year, and i am still looking, i dont currently have a resume at all, and not much work experience to boot. i was born with a birth defect called sacral agenesis. i am sure yoiu know what that is. if yiou dont , i was born without a tailbone at birth, i am missing all the vertebrae beneath my pelvis bone area. i can only stand for a certain period of time, walk some distance, but not long distances, i cant lift over 30 pds. and so on
i also self catheterize myself. i have to use the bathroom every 3 hours. well, anyways, a doctor has said i cant work on my feet at a full time labor job, but i can do substancial work, though.
anyways, goodbye,
sincerely,
jenny!

Jenny,
You are never going to get a job without a resume - so that is what you need to do first. Have you gone to a vocation rehabiliation agency for any help?

Work at home opportunities are hard enough to find if you are able bodied, but if you are disabled, almost impossible.   The J. Lodge Corporation offers great opportunities for work at home for the disabled.  They specialize in assisting Americans with disabilities to get back into the work force.  Earning while on Social Security Disability can be found at: http://www.yourtickettowork.com/.  To apply with J. Lodge go to: http://www.jlodge.com/careers. Hope to have you as a co-worker soon!!!!!

Hi everyone, I am new to this site.
I just wanted to respond to those folks looking for legitimate work at home jobs.
I worked from home for a company called Alpine Access.  They are a real company that provides remote customer service for many top companies.  You can apply by visiting there website at, www.alpineaccess.com.  You do need to have very good computer skills, knowledge of all microsoft office products.  Also if you are on disability, you can contact your local office for the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.  Once you have a DVR counselor they can assist you in finding work at home jobs.  There is another company called National Telecommuting Institute, they specially work with people with disabilities, but they used to require that you have a DVR counselor, but you can also apply with them directly on-line at, www.nticentral.org.  I worked with both of these organizations successfully.  Please do not trust any ads that want you to send any money, they are always scams there are no exceptions.  Legitimate employers never require you to pay any fees or purchase any software from them.

Good Luck!
